ahernIf you are a girl who has just splashed out on a new pad and is looking for ideas on how to decorate her home then this is the book for you. Written by Abigail Ahern of ‘Atelier’, the book is jam-packed full of brilliant sections giving you advice on everything you need from how to give an illusion of space – perfect if your place is a bit tight for space – to getting the wow-factor, using light and even tips for us girlies on a small budget.

Abigail’s book has so many handy hints and tips from hanging pictures, sanding and painting floors and each section even gives you a shopping list so you won’t forget to buy anything.

Included is advice on stripping off wallpaper, removing tiles, calculating how much paint or wallpaper you need (so you don’t buy too much or too little) and keeping safe whilst decorating.

There is a fab little section at the back that gives you places to go for good sources of junk items, architectural salvage yards, design blogs and trade organisations that are very useful for finding approved contractors in your area.

The book is so useful and will come in handy time after time. Who needs to wait for your man to do the decorating when you can do it yourself much better and in style!

A Girl’s Guide to Decorating by Abigail Ahern is published by Quadrille and available to buy online here.
