Asger Jorn exhibition – Paris

Posted in Culturelle » Art » by :: February 16, 2009

La fleur du mal. 1946

An  exhibition of Danish born artist Asger Jorn will feature 108 of his original drawings and watercolours taken from the collection at the Silkeborg Kunstmuseum.
As a founding member of the COBRA movement in 1948, Jorn took avant garde art to a new level, experimenting with spontaneous expression, and taking inspiration from children’s drawings and mythical folk art.

These factors will be highly noticeable at the exhibition, which will include many impressive works boasting colourful brush strokes, distorted shapes, and fantastical creatures that  seem to crawl out of the canvas.

Until 11th March
