Running in Heels wishes to thank the fabulous Seren Boutique in Cardiff and www.bestbagsdirect.co.uk for lending clothes and accessories for the BANG BANG POW shoot.
This month’s Running in Heels cover story was shot by Rae Hennessy. We found out a bit more about the people involved…

Rae Hennessy – Photographer

rae-1aRae specialises in fashion photography (editorial and advertising). Her expertise lies within the production of bespoke model portfolios, beauty and high fashion. Additionally, she undertakes commercial fashion shoots and portraits. Rae graduated from UWN as a fashion designer but has added wardrobe assistant for TV, fashion show producer and stylist to her ever-increasing CV. The latest string to her bow is in her role as visiting university lecturer. Rae’s photography experiences emanated from her undergraduate studies via documentation of her own collections. In the last two years her enthusiasm for image making has been re-ignited and her passion for creating fashion images re-kindled.

A return to UWN to undertake the MA in Design (specializing in fashion photography) has sparked Rae’s newfound zest for image making. Rae has been perfecting her skills in fashion photography whilst undertaking research into fashion imagery within contemporary publications which she successfully completed in February 2009.

Rae’s inspiration comes from everyday life with a heavy dose of imagination. Favourite photographers are David Lachepelle, Tim Walker, Corinne Day and Perry Curties. Her desert island essential would be her iphone – it has music, camera and web access what more could anyone ask for? Magically appearing Starbucks maybe a good idea! By the time Rae is eighty she would liked to have exhibited in the US. Rae has been known to run in heels!

Siobhan Canavan – Photography Assistantsiobhan1

Siobhan is in her final year studying Documentary Photography at Newport University, South Wales. After graduating she hopes to pursue a career in fashion photography. Siobhan’s inspiration comes in the form of fashion photographer Tim Walker. Siobhan adores travelling, addicted to drinking too much tea, indulging in chocolate cheesecake, breakfast at Tiffany’s and random road trips with friends. Her desert island essential would be a cheesecake producing radio, failing that a normal radio would do. Before she is eighty she would like at least one photo in Vogue!

Lorna Berni – Wardrobe Stylistlorna

Lorna has been styling private clients, their homes and photoshoots for five years….the past year has seen her focus on photoshoots and her retail website. Publications include, Elle Decoration, Ideal Home and Ladies First as well her list of private clients which includes everyone from athletes and architects, to footballers and fashion hungry housewives. She is inspired by Tom Ford and his work ethic as well his immaculate glamorous style, summers in Italy and off the wall fashion magazines. Her dessert island essential would be an ipod with pictures as well as music and enough biscuits to keep going for a while…Lorna’s website, Best Bags Direct ~ quality Italian handbags and fashion accessories can be found at www.bestbagsdirect.co.uk

Casey Coleman – Hairstylistcasey

Casey is currently working as a senior stylist at a Swansea salon called Eadz Up. Creating hair styles for fashion shows and shoots has been a part of his life for about three years now. He is intensely career driven and is currently working his way towards the dream of one day becoming British Hairdresser of the Year. Most of his interests revolve around his career but he does enjoy going to the gym, long weekends away, attending the annual Clothes Show in Birmingham and a good heavy night out with all his close friends! He couldn’t not live on a desert island without hair straighteners and welsh cakes….the perfect combination! Before the age of 80, Casey hopes to have become British hairdresser of the year, own a chain of salons across the country, possibly the world, and have lived a very happy and successful life.

Leanne Wright -Make-up Artist

leanne
Leanne studied at a college in Newport for two years to train as a makeup artist and is now working full time for The Welsh National Opera as a Wig and Makeup artist. She worked in a salon for 4 years and has become more daring and adventurous with her make-up. She is a perfectionist and has high standards and expectations. Apart from makeup and fashion she loves going down the beach making little midnight fires and BBQs and going on random drives. She has always loved horse-riding since she was young and still does this in her spare time. She could not live on a desert island without chocolate (of course!) and her laptop so she can keep in touch with the world. Before the age of 80, Leanne wants to have her work admired and lead a happy successful life.

Signe Springe – Model

_dsf6048Signe is in her first year studying Neuroscience at the Cardiff University. Modeling has been one of her major hobbies since the age of thirteen. It has helped her to become more determined, hard working and self-confident. Her other interests include, fencing, kickboxing and most of all traveling (Barcelona is the place to be!) Plus, she could never say “no” to a fun night out with her friends. She could not live on a deserted island without a decent amount of Ben&Jerry’s “half baked” ice cream and her diary. Before the age of 80 Signe definitely wants to learn a few more languages (French and Spanish) and finally learn how to dance Argentine tango.
