Be Priv Paris
Who are they?
The French label consists of its Parisian creators Sarah, 25 and Ilane, 23. Having met through college and reached the other side of graduation the quirky fashionistas became uninspired working alongside other artists and so decided to take full control of their own creativity. With a free Sunday afternoon to spare and the curiosity of screen printing, the label Be Priv Paris was born. Distinctive and fresh are are two words that describe the notorious French brand. The two creators wanted to create t-shirts that would reach out to unique and eclectic likeminded people – as they say “style is all about atttitude”.
The Look
The brand is well-known for its expert mix of vibrant colours and provocative statements along with a distinctive 80s urban street style trend which is described by the two creators as “Urban Luxury”. Sarah and Ilane say that the concept behind their label was to see it more than just a brand but as a “movement” of obstinate individuals refusing conformity. The two are perfectly aware of the importance of fashion street credibility these days and have devised a way around keeping their brand unique and exclusive. Certain collections they produce only have a limited quantity of two hundred which ensures its individual and eclectic wearers elite accessibility.
Since Sarah and Ilane’s journey began one boring Sunday afternoon in 2007, the brand has been taking shape over the past two years and becoming internationally successful and recognised. Aside from showcasing their
clothing to trade shows such as the Magic trade show and S.L.A.T.E in Las Vegas (where rap artist Lil Jon was in attendance), the Be Priv Paris brand is not only favoured in its hometown of Paris but has also grabbed worldwide attention. Be Priv Paris has become highly popular in Japan where the label recently held a fashion show at DG Inc and Icon in Tokyo, and with an appreciated inclusion in WAD magazine.
