Five of Our Favourites… Moisturising Masks
Winter’s well and truly here and it’s that time of the year when your skin probably needs a little extra TLC to ensure it stays glowing and hydrated. We’ve tested out five high street favourites to find out which delivers the best results for your skin.
Lush Oatifix Hydrating Mask
It might not look too appealing but this face mask smells yummy and works wonders. If you want a product that uses all natural ingredients then this is the way to go. The product is a blend of oats, bananas, almonds and exotic rainforest butters, all of which combine to leave your skin feeling nourished and soft. And it really does work; after you’ve washed it off it leaves a moisturising layer behind that’ll help protect your skin against harsh winter weather.
L’Occitane Ultra Comforting Mask
L’Occitane’s Ultra Comforting Mask is a good option if you have sensitive skin and are looking for something fragrance-free. It’s not the most economical of the high street picks, but a little does go a long way. The treatment process is easy, and when your ten minutes are up you simply wipe off any excess and you’re good to go. Because it doesn’t need to be washed off, the protection of the mask stays on your skin for longer and the treatment can be left to work overnight for a really thorough facial pick-me-up. This is a truly moisturising treatment which rehydrates winter worn skin.
Body Shop Vitamin E Sink-in Moisture Mask
This pale pink mask is perfect for the on-the-go girl who is in need of a quick pamper. The mask is soft, creamy and delicately scented. Once applied you won’t even notice the mask is on, and it feels very much like an intensive moisturiser. Despite this, the product really works to hydrate your skin and if left on overnight, does wonders for your skin. The fact that it contains vitamin E is an added bonus as it is a great antioxidant and provides excellent protection for skin.
Neal’s Yard Remedies Nourishing Orange Flower Facial Mask
If you’re a fan of natural, organic products, this super hydrating mask is a must-have. Designed with very dry skin in mind, the mask is made with a blend of neroli, apricot and pomegranate oils to replump and boost radiance. It’s also rich in anti-oxidants so you can be sure that skin is protected from the winter chill. Best used twice weekly, or overnight for an extra moisturising treatment, this is a luxe treat for parched skin.
Korres Yoghurt Moisturising Mask
Ensuring hydration over the winter is a little more of a challenge for those with combination skins. Korres’ mask provides an excellent solution that balances whilst adding long-lasting moisture. Natural yoghurt soothes dry patches and actively increases the water content in the skin’s top layers, whilst vitamin E and Sal tree butter nourish and soften. Natural watercress extract acts to refresh and cool an oily complexion and helps skin to retain moisture for longer.
