CRAVE: Globe Trotter Cruise Collection Suitcases

Posted in Jetsetter » Crave » by :: July 23, 2009

cruise-collectionThe perfect luggage whether you’re chartering a yacht with pals, or have opted to book a stateroom and cruise around the Med. Globe-Trotter have been handcrafting luxury suitcases since 1897 and HRH Queen Elizabeth is perhaps the brand’s most famous fan, having chosen a collection of their cases for her honeymoon luggage. Other famous Globe-Trotter devotees include Sir Winston Churchill and Sir Edmund Hilary. It would seem that a prerequisite for possession of a G-T case is a title!

The suitcases are made from Vulcan Fibre, a mysterious fibre invented in Britain in the 1850s which is ultra-light as well as very hard-wearing. The fibre is patented and its composition remains Globe-Trotter’s most closely guarded secret.

The cruise collection suitcases are an attractive royal blue with navy leather accents on the corners and straps. Lined in fresh blue and white striped cotton, the cases were inspired by yacht races on the Isle of Wight. For an extra touch of luxury you can have your initials hand-painted onto the case. And you aren’t someone who knows how to travel light, never fear! The suitcases are available in no less than nine sizes, so you could purchase a selection to ensure that you have space for all of those essential items. A word of warning: they’re so pretty that you may not want to unpack!
