Loula Creates' bright print leggings

Who is she?

Louise Kenny is the founder of eclectic and innovative fashion brand Loula Creates. Born in Glasgow, Louise graduated in July 2009 from the Glasgow Caledonian University with an impressive first class honours degree in Fashion Business. She has worked for various fashion magazines and in events organisation,  helping to put together the first ever Glasgow Fashion Week. She has also worked as a stylist, alongside Kelly Cooper Barr, Fashion Editor of The Herald Saturday Magazine.

The Look

The brand focuses on unique, hand-printed bespoke pieces. Louise says: “The use of colour, texture, pattern and print are extremely important to me.”

Her current collection features an eye-popping range of hues and patterns, taking traditional Scottish tartan and giving it a modern, rock and roll twist. Turquoise, cerise and bright orange tones make for a funky collection of leggings and tights that should be shown off – ideally with summer’s shortest micro-shorts. Quality is key – the leggings are created from luxury jersey cotton and the 80 denier hosiery is made to last. Each item is handmade, ensuring that no two pairs of tights are the same.

The Buzz

The label is still very new but that hasn’t stopped the industry taking notice: Scotland-based international fashion magazine Posed featured Loula creates as their New Designer of the Month in February. Her tights and leggings were shown off in a shoot for Indicate Magazine and you’ll also find the Loula Creates lookbook on fashion website Not Just a Label which is hailed as being the “leading global platform” for up-and-coming fashion designers.
