Picasso exhibition – London

picsaa“It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.”
Pablo Picasso – a man loathed and loved, a painter whose works have permeated every nook and cranny of the cultural world (and beyond). To some, he is iconic. To others, he is over hyped. To most, he is indisputably influential.
The National Gallery puts “Guernica” and co. aside, proposing a fresh perspective on the famous Spaniard. “Challenging the Past” uncovers Picasso’s sources of inspiration and artistic development, exhibiting the comebacks he made at the Old Masters – the very men whose pieces influenced and educated him.
So if you’re looking for some cultural enrichment or a new topic of conversation to impress your friends with, pencil this into your schedule.
