Sandrina Fasoli for Mango

Who are they ?

Sandrina Fasoli is an up and coming label based in Belgium. It is comprised of designing duo Sandria Fasoli herself and her business partner, designer Michael Marson, who are both graduates of L’Ecole Nationale des Arts Visuels de la Cambre.

The Look

Designing for Mango, Sandrina Fasoli created eleven pieces contrasting pastel colours with a black base colour. Liberal use of lavender and rose is skilfully contrasted with harshness of black to create a vision of femininity which combines the playful with the serious. Loosely silhouetted dresses that combine the classic elements of the tuxedo with asymmetrical features, are given movement and style with pleats of silk and chiffon.

Sandrina Fasoli’s designs portray an alluring image in which a playful outer appearance conceals a hard edged and powerful sexiness that lies, barely concealed, beneath the surface.

In addition they also won the 1st edition of the El Boton-Mango Fashion Awards in 2007. About the Author

Tom Bowen gets far too caught up in old fashioned novels and modern day indie pop. Whether it's selling his possessions to move to Paris or jetting off to China, he is far more a fan of romantic imagery than reality. After a prolonged spell in Beijing he is set to return to Paris next year where he hopes to continue writing for a number of publications, build up his fantastic trilby collection and pursue his dream of becoming Humphrey Bogart.
