The SATC Quiz – London
We haven’t been this excited about a film release since… erm, when the first Sex and the City movie hit the screens! Yes ladies, in just a few weeks the fab four will be back for more cocktails, relationship dilemmas and high jinks in heels.
What sartorial showstoppers can we expect from Carrie? Is Charlotte still in Park Avenue Princess-style domestic bliss? Will Samantha manage to get through the film without sharing her frank, if insightful ideas on sex? Is it possible that Miranda might have mellowed out and become a little less neurotic?* And what on earth are the girls doing in Morocco?**
Unless you know a Hollywood insider, you’re unlikely to find answers to any of those questions before the film’s general release. However, you can get yourself back into SATC shape thanks to the lovely people at Don’t Panic. Following the huge success of The Wire Quiz with Dominic West, they have teamed up with Marie Curie Cancer Care to bring you The Sex and The City Quiz.
Hosted by Mary Nightingale and taking place at the rather chichi 1 Lombard Street, the soirée promises an elegant evening of cocktails (obviously), fabulous fashion (of course, darling) and fierce competition. How much do you know about our favourite Manhattan residents? You might want to go easy on the Cosmopolitans if you really want to test your knowledge against rival fanatics; the questions have been set by the stars and writers of the show!
The fun-filled competition is taking place in aid of an important cause: proceeds go towards helping Marie Curie nurses to care for terminally ill patients in their own homes. And if you’re not already excited and inspired enough, did we mention the goodie bags?
Tickets are likely to sell faster than you can say “Manolo Blahnik”, so gather your girlfriends and book a table.
In the meantime, try out a little revision with this surprisingly challenging SATC quiz, and if you haven’t already seen it, the trailer for the film is below. And no, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with watching a trailer 53 times.
The Sex and the City Quiz – 7.30pm, Monday 17th May.
Entrance fee includes cocktails on arrival and a light supper. Individual tickets cost £90 and group tables of eight are available for £600 – buy online here.
* We think that’s pretty unlikely. There has to be one slightly annoying character and it looks like the SATC writers have elected Miranda.
** The girls are obviously in Morocco because either a. Patricia Field needs to flex her styling muscles or b. SJP stipulates that there should be one holiday opportunity for the cast in each film.
