Schoolgirl Romance
This month’s cover story was shot by David Thomas (assisted by Laura Karpaviciute), with styling by Lauren Miller and make-up/hair by Elizabeth Rita) featuring model Stina Tranberg. We found out a bit more about the people involved with the shoot.
David Thomas – Photographer
David Thomas is a law graduate studying for his Bar Exams. Currently searching for a pupillage, he’s assured by all that it will be in the last place that he looks, and possibly under the refrigerator. David came from Australia to study, and has taken somewhat of a fancy to England. He’s an aficionado of Shostakovich, and the whole team enjoyed Symphony Number 10 during the shoot. In fifteen years, he sees himself with an enormous belly, a perfectly cut suit, white hair, a Jaguar, and a beautiful, long-legged personal assistant with small horn-rimmed glasses and an large clipboard. He neither runs, walks, nor otherwise perambulates in heels. You can see more of David’s work on his website.
Lauren Miller – Fashion Stylist
After studying fashion at university, Lauren worked in PR and Visual Merchandising before becoming a freelance fashion stylist. She loves looking at underground sub cultures from decades gone by, taking inspiration from them and bringing them up to date. She’s also inspired by people like Isabella Blow, David LaChapelle, Tim Walker, Daphne Guinness and Lady Gaga; those who are not afraid to step away from normality and be different. Lauren couldn’t live without her amazing family – and lipgloss. Five years from now she’s like to be styling a movie about her own life! Lauren can definitely run in heels and almost always with a suitcase and several bags in tow as well. See more of Lauren styling on her website.
Elizabeth Rita -Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist
Elizabeth is an experienced and well published makeup artist. Having trained at Brushstroke College and at Shepperton and Pinewood Studios, she has both an impeccable eye for detail and an unrivalled enthusiasm for her craft. She would love to have a case of Crème de la Mer, and can’t live without her Bobbi Brown Bronzer and Clinique Doublelash Mascara. If she could do anyone’s makeup? It would have to be Lady Gaga! Elizabeth is Sponsored by Dermalogica Skin
Care, MAC Cosmetics and Label.m Haircare. Find out more about Elizabeth on her website.
Stina Tranberg – Model at M and P Models
M&P Models was founded by Mignon Matthews & Partner in the 1990s. The agency has always been at the high end of fashion having secured campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry and Benetton, and representing international models who grace the covers of Vogue, Elle and Tatler on a regular basis.
