CRAVE: Shan Rahimkhan’s True Volume

Posted in Mirror Mirror » Brands » by :: September 30, 2010

Add some va-va-voom to your locks!

The sex appeal of big hair is undeniable; who could fail to be seduced by sleek, voluminous tresses gleaming with luscious shine? Emma Watson’s pixie cut may be on-trend and Alexa’s tousled mane certainly has fashionistas in a flap, but they don’t really compare to the gloriously bouncy feminine curls of screen goddesses such as Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren.

Shan Rahimkhan, cult stylist and founder of the uber hip Shan Rahimkhan Casa boutique, salon and café in Berlin’s Mitte district has created a range of products for those of us that prefer our locks XXL – the ‘True Volume’ collection. Specifically developed for fine hair that needs a helping hand to achieve that ultra-voluminous look, the line comprises eleven salon-grade shampoos, treatments and styling solutions.

Shan takes a holistic approach to haircare to ensure radiant, healthy tresses, so the range is packed with active ingredients to invigorate, such as bamboo (a natural source of shine-boosting silica), quinoa (contains amino acids to restructure) and tamanou oil (an anti-oxidant which increases suppleness). The formulas have been created to work their magic on even the most over-styled, colour-damaged hair and restore elasticity and strength whilst cranking up the volume.

The matte black packaging offers the same slick, luxurious design as Shan’s Davide Rizzo-designed concept store, and is as desirable as the wares you’ll find on sale there too. You’ll also find a rather enigmatic motto on the products: ‘The true mystery of beautiful hair is the visible, not the invisible.’ We’re not entirely sure that we understand the full meaning of this, but the range certainly works when it comes to creating voluptuous volume and enviably lustrous locks!

Shan Rahimkhan’s True Volume collection is available to buy online at Hari’s Salon or on the Shan Rahimkhan website.
