Last week I came across a super-cool urban art gallery called Studio 55 owned by Emmanuel and Domoina de Brantes. This gallery showcases and supports a new generation of contemporary art from graffiti artists to Banksy inspired work. The art in this gallery has an international appeal though most of the work is from local or European artists. One can find most of Paris’s art-crowd coming to view the art at this place – plus it’s cool to be seen here!

I was there for an Obama tribute night mixed with an exhibition of Sich’s work – where he portrayed cultural legends to be American commercial posters such as Karl Lagerfeld as the KFC Man, Marilyn Monroe as the Ronald McDonald’s clown, Elvis as the Burger King, and Jack Nicholson as Jack-in-the-Box.

If you don’t know about this place, it can be hard to find. When you arrive at the address  – you may be surprised to find that it looks like a normal residential building, which in fact it is. Just go through the big wooden doors and make your way down 2 flights of stairs. Look for the sign on the door ‘studio 55′ and voila, you’ve found the place. Enjoy the art and the vibe!
