Following the success of its first store located in Paris’ 2nd arrondissement the arts collective Surface to Air opens another store in the fashion forward Marais district.

The Surface to Air band is a group of eclectic and talented artists, comprising of designers, photographers and filmmakers operating in contemporary fashion, communications and film.

Taking its first breath in 2000 the multidisciplinary company started off as a group of friends who wanted to work together on projects they were passionate about. Today each division within the company works toward developing its own pursuits while remaining within Surface to Air’s vision.

With offices in Paris, São Paulo and NYC, its creative direction and consultancy studios are successfully functioning worldwide for the high end fashion, art and luxury markets. The agency has art directed some very influential films and music videos with clients including Sony and the BBC and artists such as Scenario Rock, Midnight Juggernauts, Chromeo, Black Kids and Cavalera Conspiracy. Commercials produced for the luxury markets have included Louis Vuitton, Issey Miyake, Isabel Marant, Tsumori Chisato, Andam (National Association for the development of Fashion Arts) and Loveless in Tokyo.

Their newest retail location is connected to the agency’s open plan office which is filled with samples, bags, magazines and creative minds with the atmosphere extending into the boutique. A concept store in the truest sense, a record shop, art gallery and showroom, it’s a place where creators gather among the vinyl collections, designs and clothing.

The Surface to Air selection offers a modern interpretation of classic and technical garments from graphic print tees, smart tailored coats and jeans, to fine accessories and bags for men and women. Along with its own brand, the cult clothing establishment also sells the works of young designers from around the world. Taking in the likes of Alice McCall’s super cute pieces, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair jeans and printed dresses by Wood Wood.

Accustomed in developing special editions each season the company collaborates with various people from varying fields such as artists, designers and musicians who are within the Surface to Air’s circle of trust.
