The Hot Ten: Make-up Artist Picks for A/W 2010

Posted in Mirror Mirror » Features » by :: September 7, 2010

Autumn and winter are two of my favourite seasons as they conjure up images of romance, rich colours, golden light and long nights. You can afford to push the boundaries with your make up and create strong looks with deep hues that will suit the crisp, cold days and darker evenings.

Shop counters are bursting with delicious products so I have blended, smoothed and painted polishes, powders and liquids to give you the low down on the top products out there.

Hot products picks to recreate looks for Autumn/Winter 2010

The Hot Ten for Autumn/Winter 2010

Light Expert – By Terry

A genius foundation and brush combo which hides all imperfections and leaves your skin flawless. Forget matte formulations and heavy bases – this season’s make-up is natural and glowing. Make-up artists at Louis Vuitton and Stella McCartney created the perfect radiant complexion to wear through the chilly months.

Creme Blush – Kjaer Weis

Make your complexion glow and your eyes sparkle by adding a touch of this cream colour. Shimmer has been banished for the moment – it’s all about the outdoorsy flush as seen at D&G and Fendi.

Amplified Creme Lipstick in Ramblas Red – MAC

Wamp up your look and bring out your inner villain! Reds hit the catwalks with a vengeance this season, from true tones at Moschino to vampier shades at Issa.

●  The Multiple – Nars

This multi purpose stick comes in 14 shades and can be used on eyes, cheeks, lips and body. Choose a soft, pretty tone to recreate the gentle, glowy look as seen at Balmain and Sportmax.

Denim and Rose Face Palette – Bobbi Brown

A mouth watering selection of colours for endless day and evening looks. The charcoal shadow is ideal for creating this season’s softer smoky eye, shown on the catwalk at Chloé and Marc Jacobs

Purple Haze Nail Polish -  Rococo

Perfect for complementing warm Autumnal colours and cooler icy tones – this polish is essential for a gothic, grunge-inspired look. Models at Erdem and Antonio Berardi were seen wearing deep, dark nailcolours.

●  Precision Liquid Eyeliner – Le Metier De Beaute

A fantastic liner for control and definition, allowing you to create a precise long wearing line. Look to Giambattista Valli and Isabel Marant to inspire your sexy eyeliner flicks for A/W 2010.

Noir Black Inimitable Mascara – Chanel

Lengthen, accentuate and curl in one graceful sweep. Coats lashes beautifully with no clumps in sight. Although we’re being dared to go mascara-less this season, the sleek Seventies sex-bomb looks shown at Chloé and Gucci mean that a flash of Chanel’s Noir Black Inimitable is just what you need for that sultry gaze.

Brow Definers – Chantecaille

Define and darken your brows with this choice of three colours. Pencilled, powerful eyebrows were seen on the catwalks at Loewe and Prada.

Kiss Kiss Essence de Gloss – Guerlain

An exceptional lip care product with extreme shine. A lighter way to wear lipcolour, gloss is back on the radar this season – models at Karl Lagerfeld and Donna Karan sported super shiny, laquered shades.
