From skin-saving serum and to gorgeous cream blush and lash-boosting mascara, these beauty buys deserve a place on any list of perfect products.

Indispensable tried-and-tested products...

Thanks to the bundles of new beauty products (and my bewildered but understanding postmen) that arrive daily, I’m never short of a shampoo, lipstick or body lotion to put through its paces. And yet, a bit like finding the perfect white t-shirt or ultimate cookie recipe, certain have become favourites I always default to, no matter what newcomers seem tempting…

MAC Cremeblend

Where a make-up bag edit used to reveal my predilection towards Prescriptives, the much-missed label has been replaced by MAC. And given my obsession with cream blusher, it’s wasn’t a surprise that at last count I had four on the go. It’s not just that they melt on your fingertips and smooth over cheeks like velvet, but that the colours really work, whether my complexion looks like I’ve been holidaying in Ireland or India. My favourites are deliciously peachy Posey and darker, duskier Tea Petal, but I can’t wait to get my hands on Florida, an eye-popping pink coming in March that already has me thinking of sunnier days and the promise of a summer tan.

Gielly Green Argan Rescue

The beauty industry has been buzzing about Argan oil so loudly of late that you could probably hear it from space. And although it seems completely counterintuitive to put oil onto freshly washed hair, this version from the Mayfair salon is nothing short of miraculous. Years of highlights, top-knots and bouts of restless sleep have seen my hair take a rebellious turn by breaking and frizzing up against my will. But two pumps of oil before blow-drying makes it feel so smooth and strong that I can see the lustrous light at the end of the hair repair tunnel.

NUDE Advanced Cellular Renewal Moisturiser

Being a bit prone to the midday make-up slide if I use a moisturiser that’s particularly rich, I tend to stick to lighter fluid formulas that let my skin feel supple without encouraging it to shine. This one however, floored me (in a good way) from the first time I used it. With a texture like whipped double cream, I expected it to feel too heavy for my confused complexion, but in fact it’s light as air and gives a satiny soft finish from the get-go. The high calibre line-up of anti-ageing ingredients don’t fail to deliver either.

Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes

The wand on this mascara may look worryingly like a medieval wrecking ball, but when you know it was inspired by a make-up artist’s trick, is actually genius. Backstage at the shows and on shoots, savvy professionals have been spotted trimming down bristles to get a shape that catches the smallest lashes right down to the root. And this spherical brush does just that. It defines peepers perfectly with glossy black colour, creates a fabulous fan shape and gives easy access to hard to reach lashes at both corners.

REN Omega 3 Night Repair Serum

I’ll admit I rocked up to the serum party a bit late, but since giving them a go in the interests of research (and hitting late 30’s), I’ve been converted by their power to deliver serious anti-ageing benefits. My go-to is Ren’s overnight version which, aside from smelling divinely soporific, has the ability to instantly inject moisture into my skin no matter how shrivelled it’s feeling. And it’s been making my complexion look brighter too, despite the grey winter days. I’ve also discovered that it’s brilliant at treating little patches of psoriasis, as the star ingredient – omega 3 – is anti-inflammatory.

Banishing dark circles, covering blemishes and evening out skin pigmentations - a concealer you can really depend on is a make-up bag must-have. Here's our edit of the best.

Ask any woman what one item of make-up she wouldn’t be seen dead without, and many will cite concealer as their number one must-have. But concealer shades and formulations can be a minefield of disasters waiting to happen. Get it right and you can even ditch the foundation. Get it wrong and you’ll look worse than you did without it. Here are five of our favourites to get you started…

Essential products for covering blemishes...

Bare Minerals SPF20 Bisque Concealer

From Bare Minerals – one of the most established companies in the mineral make-up market – comes Bisque, a loose-powder concealer available in five shades, suitable for all skin types. Not only does it conceal dark circles under the eyes, age spots and even out skin pigmentations, it also contains zinc oxide to help prevent and heal spots. And if that weren’t enough, the UVA protection helps counteract further skin pigmentation.

Diego Dalla Palma Lifting Effect Fluid Concealer

Diego Dalla Palma may not necessarily be a familiar name, but in his native Italy, this make-up artist’s cosmetics line is known as the ‘MAC’ of Italy. The Lifting Fluid Concealer (available in four shades) is suitable for normal to dry skin and gives lightweight coverage to minimise imperfections and smooth out the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. And here comes the science: the hexapeptide plumps the skin to minimise fine lines, with lipo-siliconic compounds and a moisturising complex giving a comfortable natural look. The result? No drying or settling into the fine lines around the eyes.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

Bobbi Brown is well known for her huge range of shades, making the face products perfect for all skin tones. The Creamy Concealer is no exception – and it’s available in 16 different shades, all of them yellow-based. Long-wearing and creamy (as the name suggests), the rich formula blends easily, whether with fingers or a special concealer brush, while skin conditioners in the formula help to protect the delicate under-eye are. To help the concealer stay put even longer, follow with the one-shade-suits-all setting powder.

Cover FX Camouflage Concealer

Cover FX was founded by a camouflage make-up expert, so you just know the concealers are going to be great. Available in six shades, the Cover FX Camouflage Concealer is a 3-in-1 multi-functional formula that contains a built-in primer; it’s also water-resistant and contains emollients to soften and hydrate delicate skin. The lightweight, long-lasting product is free of oil, fragrance and parabens too, so there’s no danger of putting nasties close the the vulnerable eye socket area.

True Concealer by Alison Raffaele

If you love the idea of a mineral concealer but can’t be bothered with the loose powder format, then the creamy Alison Raffaele True Concealer could be the answer. Available in 7 shades from the lightest ivory through to the darkest mahogany, the creamy formulation dries to a soft powder finish, and disguises even the darkest circles after a hard night’s partying. Useful for both under the eye and on facial blemishes, the concealer contains Vitamins A, C and E to fight skin damage from radicals, while the Pomegranate and Resveratrol contain further antioxidant properties.

Our Top Concealer Tips

● The most common mistake when using a concealer is choosing a shade that’s too light for the skin, in the hope of covering up dark circles. In fact, your concealer should only be one shade lighter than your foundation, otherwise you’ll just draw attention to, not hide, those dark circles.

● The key to getting the right perfect application (when using a cream concealer) is using a concealer brush to apply, before patting in with the tip of the ring-finger to ensure perfectly blended, flawless application.

Among your long list of resolutions, did you resolve to make more 'me time' in 2012? Take time to try two of ila spa's star products, which promise to soothe, calm and rejuvenate naturally...

ila spa's rejuvenating bath salts and body scrub

Currently trying to follow a long list of resolutions? Among the numerous positive changes you planned, did you resolve to make more ‘me time’ in 2012? Dedicating time to oneself might seem a little less revolutionary (not to mention virtuous) than that health and fitness zeal, but it’s just as important. With our busy, rushed lives and endless to-do lists, taking time out can seem like a selfish choice – and a way of losing precious minutes and seconds when you could be doing something else. But if you can commit to one night a week of true, blissed-out relaxation and indulgence, you’ll find that tackling that task list and dashing around town seem a whole lot easier. Pour yourself a glass of your favourite tipple, dig out that novel you’ve not managed to read mid-commute and run a deep, soothing bath. And exhale…

ila spa’s natural products are a luxurious complement to an evening spent looking after number one; the ethical, sustainable beauty brand is dedicated to emotional and spiritual wellbeing. First stop? The Bath Salts for Inner Peace. Pure mineral-rich Himalayan salt crystals aid the detoxifying process, so those healthy intentions get an extra boost, hurrah! Add in heady damascena rose otto and sensual sandalwood, and you’ve got a serene blend guaranteed to soothe – and make you feel like the moments spent on ‘me time’ are definitely worth it. The Bath Salts are designed to balance emotions and give a sense of calm and tranquility, while rejuvenating skin and boosting natural radiance. Simply add a generous measure of the salts to your tub, lie back and soak for at least twenty minutes, to give your body enough time to absorb the rich minerals.

Alternatively try the Body Scrub for Energising and Detoxifying; a cure-all solution if you’re feeling run down or tired after a particularly arduous week. Once again, there’s a high concentration of those magic Himalayan salt crystals, along with juniper berry, rose geranium and wild poppy essence – the scent alone is uplifting. Intoxicating fragrance aside, the scrub promises to stimulate the lymphatic system, easing those muscular aches and pains. Tend to wear vertiginous heels and carry heavy totes? This one’s for you. First massage the scrub onto damp skin, for a wonderfully revivifying effect that really wakes skin up, before sinking into a deep bath to let the mineral salts do their work. Both products are best served in a candle-lit setting, preferably with a glass of Malbec…

For more information, see ila spa’s website, or shop products online here.

The two new Dior Vernis nail shades - Waterlily and Forget-me-not - are punchy and universally wearable, providing a pop of spring, whilst in reality we’re still in the ghastly grips of winter.

Dior's chic Garden Party nail colours

‘After women, flowers are the most lovely things God has given to the world.’

These are not the only words Christian Dior spoke on his appreciation of flowers; his love of the botanical, stemmed throughout his life and career. His first collection, unveiled in 1947 and referred to as the New Look, due to its influence on the fashion world at the time, was called Corolle – or corolla, which roughly translates to way petals fan out from the flower’s stigma.

The famous collection was inspired by the plants growing in the gardens of his family home, Villa les Rhumbs. Perched overlooking the sea in the French coastal town of Granville, it’s now a museum, boasting among the archive of his past haute couture collections, a beautiful rose garden Dior planted as a young man.

The new Dior Garden Party nail polish collection is inspired by his roses and the gatherings he hosted among the gardens; ’Grand Balls of the Century’, he called them. The scent of rose emanates from each lacquer, most detectable after the nails are completely dry and the varnish fumes gone; which is likely the healthier time to sniff them too.

The two Dior Vernis nail shades, created by Director of Dior Make-up Tyen, are punchy and universally wearable, providing a pop of spring, whilst in reality we’re still in the ghastly grips of winter. Waterlily, an iridescent, minty green, is my favourite of the two, and the one that drew the most spontaneous compliments from friends and colleagues. Forget-me-not, a pretty mauve hue, is the more grown-up of the two, and pleasingly flattering even on my pale winter skin. Both, with the added preservation of a clear base and top coat, remained chip free for a week; only shifting then because I was ready for a colour change.

The limited edition duo launch this month, and much like other coveted designer nail colours out there, are likely to be snapped up

Dior Vernis: £18 each. Available to buy online here from 16th January.

After svelte, smooth and streamlined contours sans the gym membership? Here’s our edit of the must-have body products you’ll love…

When pounding the treadmill isn’t sufficient, we need to scour for alternative treatments to fight the war against cellulite, stubborn fat, loss of firmness and water retention. Luckily, those beauty experts have been busy creating body-sculpting products, to give you the svelte, smooth and streamlined contours we all dream of. Here’s our edit of the must-have body products you’ll love…

Body sculpting essentials for svelte, smooth contours...

Bliss FatGirl Treatment Kit

Inspired by its signature, body toning spa treatment, Bliss have created a cellulite-busting kit to enable you to recreate the same benefits at home. Included are three of the brand’s most popular formulas fight to firm and diminish cellulite with the help of caffeine, a scrub to stimulate circulation and a rich overnight cream to soothe, decrease water retention and tighten skin.

Plus, you alsoreceive the most efficient hand-held body massager I have ever used, the FatGirlSlimulator, which vigorously attacks stubborn fat cells. Ideal for use on the thighs, love handles and buttocks, where circulation is lacking, simply use circular movements in the shower, to prep for your cellulite treatment.

Decléor Aromessence Sculpt Balm

If slackened skin and general loss of firmness is your primary skin concern, head straight to Decleor for natural, highly effective body sculpting. The wonder balm contains a cocktail of eight, 100% pure and natural essential oils, which help to drastically improve and maintain skin elasticity whilst correcting the appearance of stretch marks – perfect for use during or after weight loss.

The beautiful aromatic scent and velvety texture make it a luxurious treat to apply, as dry skin is comforted. Warm a small amount of the balm into palms and apply over body, concentrating particularly on problem areas. It’s also completely safe to use during pregnancy.

Liz Earle Energising Hip and Thigh Gel

The hips and thighs are notoriously difficult areas to improve and slim, so once the dreaded dimples appear, it’s time to take action with a serious skincare product. The Energising Hip and Thigh Gel by Liz Earle utilises highly stimulating plant extracts to tone and firm the skin, whilst detoxifying and revitalising the overall appearance and surface of these troublesome areas.

Ivy, horse chestnut and butcher’s broom have been carefully selected to naturally invigorate. Combined with essential oils of grapefruit, sweet orange and rosemary to uplift the senses and leave skin feeling ultra smooth. It can also be used daily, to tighten the stomach and upper arms.

Mama Mio Get Waisted Body Shaper

Specially formulated to shrink fat cells around the waist, Mama Mio’s Body Shapper diminishes those wobbly bits and boosts fat-burning, through seven silhouette-enhancing ingredients. Derivatives of brown and red algae, alongside amino acids, break down stored fat cells and heighten micro-circulation, which also contributes to the destruction of fat.

By massaging two pumps of this clever cream into the skin for half a minute, the waist immediately feels much tighter. Use long, sweeping motions, in a clockwise direction to reduce tummy bloating and improve digestion. Free from horrid synthetic substances, you can be sure you are applying a skin-friendly formula.

NIP + FAB Cellulite Fix

To battle the appearance of orange peel on the legs and arms, NIP + FAB’s Cellulite Fix, is the answer to your worries. It really is made for the lazy girl, as you don’t even need to massage the gel into your skin, simply smooth over targeted areas, for fast action.

With three key benefit – releasing fatty acids, reducing fat deposits and improving an irregular skin surface – it’s all you need in one tube. Indian forskolin and caffeine combine to remove waste substances, which can be enhanced by dry body brushing, prior to application.

Instant hydration, pure indulgence or long-lasting glamour; we round-up the star beauty products that deserve a special place in our makeup bags...

From adolescence to adulthood, most of us have had our fair share of beauty triumphs and disasters, and after extensive trial and error have come to rely on those star products that never let us down and deserve a special place in our makeup bag or bathroom cabinet. Below are our pick of beauty investments that respectively calm a frazzled mind, hydrate and nourish in the cold weather, smell divine or provide stay-put glamour in an instant. These are my must-have products…

Beauty and body products that truly define 'must-have'...

By Terry Baume de Rose

This luxurious beauty balm is great for dry cuticles, chapped lips and anywhere else that needs an instant moisture boost – plus a little goes a long way, making it a great investment. Being one of Space NK’s bestsellers, its scent is like falling into a field of roses – and is so delicious you might be tempted to eat it! Its rich, nourishing formula contains Vitamin E, rose flower essential wax as well as UV filters to protect against sun damage and in my extensive experience it has to be the most scrumptious, hardworking product ever to grace my handbag to date.

NEOM Organics Complete Bliss Organic Bath and Shower Oil

As someone whose mood is seriously affected by changes in the weather, this indulgent bath oil is the perfect pick-me-up; it contains a high percentage of essential oils, meaning you only need a few capfuls mixed with hot running water before its rich scent of Moroccan blush rose fills the entire bathroom. And if you happen to have trouble sleeping, this calming concoction will soon help your mind wind down and encourage a good night’s rest. This is my go-to product, perfect for a hangover, a stressful day or just when I have the house to myself and want a chilled night in. Complete bliss made easy.

Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain Lipstick in Garçonne

Come rain or shine there is no better mood lifter than a luscious red lippie. This uber-chic silver case with handy built-in mirror is lust-worthy in itself, and the vibrant pinky-red shade, with a deliciously creamy, hydrating texture is sure to brighten up the dullest of complexions. Perfect to pop on with a crisp white shirt or a little black dress – I’ve found I can leave the house with a slick of this and not a scrap of make up elsewhere and still feel like I’m at the height of glamour. If you’re planning to splurge on a statement lipstick, this should be the one. Take care though – the magnet holding the
heavy lid in place isn’t very strong, so keep this safe in a makeup pouch, and not floating around in your handbag!

Annee de Mamiel Seasonal Facial Oils

Having met acupuncture facialist Annee in person, I can assure you this lady really does know her onions; after feeling my pulse for a few seconds, she was able to correctly pinpoint deficiencies in my lifestyle and diet, and the effect it was having on my skin. Her face oils are specially formulated in accordance with the principles of Chinese medicine, and are adapted to the body’s changing energies each season. The Autumn Facial Oil is designed to help the skin cope with the sudden drop in temperature and contains healing geranium, toning lemon and nourishing rose otto. I’ve been using these oils for over a year and have found there’s no better way to repair and hydrate your skin – especially at night when it’s more prone to drying out. Inhaling the oil while it’s on your hands before massaging it over a cleansed face helps your mind relax – and day’s stresses swiftly seep away.

Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss

Being a serious eyeliner addict from the age of 13, it is the one beauty product I cannot live without come hell or high-water. Having despaired of finding a liquid liner that would stay put, and not crumble, smudge or crack like paint after a few hours, I stumbled across this beauty by Illamasqua – an independent, theatrical makeup brand I’ve come to adore. All products are richly pigmented and are designed to stay put under harsh, sweltering stage lights – and boy don’t they just. One slick of this rich fluid liner, which is a doddle to apply, and it will retain a crisp, perfect flick throughout the
day – a life-saver.

One of the key ways to keep on trend is right at your fingertips. Getting your nail colour right is the key to finishing off any outfit; these are the colours to choose for Autumn/Winter '11...

Nail the colour trends for this season...

In these cash-strapped times, it can be hard to keep up with the latest trends without risking irate calls from the bank manager. So it’s good to see that one of the key ways to keep on trend is right at your fingertips. Literally. Getting your nail colour right is the key to finishing off any outfit; magazine shoots are quick to quote the nail colour and the nail artist on any fashion shoot, while nail colours and treatments on the catwalk draw many column inches. So what should you be wearing this season?

OPI’s Touring America collection takes you on a rollercoaster ride across the great country, with glorious names for each colour, such as Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window, My Address is “Hollywood” and Color to Diner For. For the deepest darkest nails as seen on the catwalk, go for Get In The Expresso Lane, a rich glossy dark coffee colour.

Essie, the other giant in the world of nails, has gone for ladylike prim-and-proper old-time glamour, with shades inspired by arm-candy ‘it’ bags. Tap into the nude trend with Ladylike, an opaque demure light pink shade that will add a highly polished Park Avenue gloss to any manicure.

For something a little edgier, Illamasqua’s Faux Pas is a blue-violet shade from the current Theatre of the Nameless collection. The deep rich colour is intensified with the new waxy “rubber-look” finish that will have everyone jealous. And as ever, Illamasqua’s nail varnishes apply beautifully.

Leighton Denny’s latest offering takes you into another world, with names such as Meteor Match (a simmering pale marine colour) and Your Planet Or Mine, a turquoise-marine shade with an unusual oil-on-water effect that dries to a mirror-like shine. Tap into the metallic and monochrome trends seen on the catwalk and high street with Leighton Denny’s Purely Plutonic, from the Atmospheric Collection. A cool gunmetal silver, this sophisticated shade is a go-with-anything edgy neutral.

Take the metallic trend one step further with LCN’s fabulous magnetic nail varnishes for DIY futuristic nail art. Choose one of the eight shades of the specially formulated varnish, and after applying a thick coat, hold one of the magnets over the surface of the polish for about ten seconds and watch it create the design as the polish is pushed away by the magnet to mirror the pattern.

Every season, Chanel is the absolute last word in nail colours, ever since the meteoric fame of Rouge Noir, and this season’s offering is no exception. Opt for Peridot, a glistening, shimmering hypnotic greenish-gold that changes hues with every turn of the fingers. Application of shimmers can sometimes be a little tricky, but Chanel has perfected the formula for perfect application and colour-payoff, even with just one coat. Instantly recognisable as THE shade of the season, you will be talk of nail town with this one.

Featuring a marine-inspired design on both the box and the jar (which comes in a whopping 100ml size, making it far too easy to slather absolutely everywhere!) and pledging a $200,000 donation to ocean advocacy organization Oceana, there’s every reason to invest and support a good cause. Snap yours up fast as we predict a super sell out.

From elegant glass perfume bottles to lavish gold compacts, step back in time to a more glamorous era with our retro style beauty buys.

Our chic selection of vintage-inspired bathing goodies

From crystal-cut glass perfume bottles to lavish gold compacts, there’s no denying the glamour exuded by vintage cosmetics. Just a few nostalgic treats adorning your dressing table instantly transforms a bedroom into a boudoir and adds more than a hint of luxury to your grooming regime. Fortunately, a glut of gorgeous old-school style goodies mean that raiding granny’s attic to get your retro fix is a thing of the past. So turn back the clock and ramp up the glam with our pick of the best…

Bathing Belles

With its indigo-hued beribboned box, elegant bottle and honeyed gold elixir, Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil transforms your time in the tub into a soak fit for a screen siren. And it’s not just a pretty package either! Containing indulgent vetivert, camomile and sandalwood, a swirl in the bath will help you shrug off the stresses of the day and restore tranquillity for a silent night’s sleep.

As you’re soaking, try scrubbing up with one of Connock London’s lush new Kukui oil soaps. Sourced from Hawaii where it has been used for centuries, the oil soothes and softens skin, while the dainty floral motif and chic packaging make a welcome change from the usual gaudy wrappers that envelop most soaps.

While lounging languorously in the bath is the epitome of luxury, you can still get a hit of old fashioned glamour in the shower. Try an art deco inspired bottle of L’Occitane’s gorgeous Green Tea Body & Hair Shower Gel. Its absinthe green goods have been infused with fresh green tea fragrance and quinine bark to help refresh and revitalise.

Once you’ve jumped out and warmed yourself on a fresh, fluffy towel continue the vintage inspired pampering with a rich body moisturiser. The Imperial Body Balm from Kiehl’s, with its decadent black and gold pot looks like it could have come straight from the shelves of the brand’s original apothecary founded over 150 years ago. Containing rich cocoa butter, honey and sea buckthorn berry oil, it nourishes and hydrates even the most parched skin.

Another alternative is Benefit’s kitsch Bathina Take A Picture It Lasts Longer. This candyfloss pink, glistening balm comes in a super-cute retro tin with an old school pink puff (just like grandma had) and leaves skin a-shimmering with a pinky-gold glow.

Preened and pampered to perfection in the bathroom, its time to throw on a dusky pink silk robe and head to the dressing table….

Beautiful in the Boudoir

The first vintage gem for your visage is aromatherapist Andrea Garland’s Vintage Rosy Body Balm. A treasure of a find, the multi-purpose balm is packed snugly into either an antique tin or compact – each one is individually sourced. Full of lush ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, palma rose and rose geranium, a smattering of this can be used to cleanse or as a facial treatment. Either way it leaves you the proud owner of a fresh, dewy complexion.

The essentials items for your dressing table...

Once you’ve got a good base to work on, make like a sultry starlet and emphasis your cheekbones with some rogue. Bourjois’ ASOS Exclusive Edition Vintage Blusher in Rose Petal is the perfect choice, and comes in a cute compact adorned with the Eiffel Tower. If you’re looking for more of a sun-kissed look, then The Balm’s Bahama Mama bronzer brings a ray of hula girl sunshine into your life with its pin up girl compact. But if you prefer to stay au natural, go for their Sexy Mama Invisible Anti-Shine Powder, which leaves a soft, matt finish without a hint of powder.

Next it’s time to look to the eyes with the Paul & Joe Clair de Lune eye shadow in Blue Moon. Inspired by the romance and beauty of a moonlit Parisian skyline, these sparkling shades come in tres pretty, printed packaging and look almost too good to use. Paul & Joe also have retro look, heart-shaped bottles of nail enamel with faded pink lids. Go for a scarlet hue like the vibrant red to release your inner Dita. Complete the look with a good layer of Rose & Co Cherry Kiss Salve, for a cherry-red tinted, kissable pout.

Finishing Touches…

No vintage vixen would leave her boudoir without a healthy spritz of her favourite fragrance. Penhaligon’s Cornubia Eau de Toilette not only looks divine on any dressing table but leaves a luscious, luxurious scent with notes of mandarin, freesia, orange blossom, vanilla, jasmine and heliotrope trailing in your mist.

With your vintage makeover complete, all that remains is to grab a retro bit of handbag bling like Estee Lauder’s luxe Golden Alligator Compact. With its lucidity translucent pressed powder its perfect for touching up your look on the go – granny would definitely have approved!

* @projectDescription Easy element scrolling using jQuery.
* http://flesler.blogspot.com/2007/10/jqueryscrollto.html
* Works with jQuery +1.2.6. Tested on FF 2/3, IE 6/7/8, Opera 9.5/6, Safari 3, Chrome 1 on WinXP.
*
* @author Ariel Flesler
* @version 1.4.2
*
* @id jQuery.scrollTo
* @id jQuery.fn.scrollTo
* @param {String, Number, DOMElement, jQuery, Object} target Where to scroll the matched elements.
* The different options for target are:
* - A number position (will be applied to all axes).
* - A string position ('44', '100px', '+=90', etc ) will be applied to all axes
* - A jQuery/DOM element ( logically, child of the element to scroll )
* - A string selector, that will be relative to the element to scroll ( 'li:eq(2)', etc )
* - A hash { top:x, left:y }, x and y can be any kind of number/string like above.
* - A percentage of the container's dimension/s, for example: 50% to go to the middle.
* - The string 'max' for go-to-end.
* @param {Number} duration The OVERALL length of the animation, this argument can be the settings object instead.
* @param {Object,Function} settings Optional set of settings or the onAfter callback.
* @option {String} axis Which axis must be scrolled, use 'x', 'y', 'xy' or 'yx'.
* @option {Number} duration The OVERALL length of the animation.
* @option {String} easing The easing method for the animation.
* @option {Boolean} margin If true, the margin of the target element will be deducted from the final position.
* @option {Object, Number} offset Add/deduct from the end position. One number for both axes or { top:x, left:y }.
* @option {Object, Number} over Add/deduct the height/width multiplied by 'over', can be { top:x, left:y } when using both axes.
* @option {Boolean} queue If true, and both axis are given, the 2nd axis will only be animated after the first one ends.
* @option {Function} onAfter Function to be called after the scrolling ends.
* @option {Function} onAfterFirst If queuing is activated, this function will be called after the first scrolling ends.
* @return {jQuery} Returns the same jQuery object, for chaining.
*
* @desc Scroll to a fixed position
* @example $('div').scrollTo( 340 );
*
* @desc Scroll relatively to the actual position
* @example $('div').scrollTo( '+=340px', { axis:'y' } );
*
* @dec Scroll using a selector (relative to the scrolled element)
* @example $('div').scrollTo( 'p.paragraph:eq(2)', 500, { easing:'swing', queue:true, axis:'xy' } );
*
* @ Scroll to a DOM element (same for jQuery object)
* @example var second_child = document.getElementById('container').firstChild.nextSibling;
* $('#container').scrollTo( second_child, { duration:500, axis:'x', onAfter:function(){
* alert('scrolled!!');
* }});
*
* @desc Scroll on both axes, to different values
* @example $('div').scrollTo( { top: 300, left:'+=200' }, { axis:'xy', offset:-20 } );
